Gata Cattana y el poder de la palabra

Podría decirse que esta artista, rapera, poetisa, feminista y politóloga de Adamuz (Cordoba) era todo un  referente de una mujer del siglo XXI.

Resumir es arte, eso decía Gata.

Y Arte es lo que ella tenía. Del Guadalquivir a Sierra Morena, de las generaciones del 98 y a la del 27 eran su caldo de cultivo. Consiguió mostrarse tal como era, y eso es lo que cautivó a sus oyentes, su autenticidad. Porque si hoy es más acucioso el problema de la nuestra convivencia es por la falta de autenticidad. Falta de respeto a nosotros mismos. Necesitamos tiempo para conocernos, tiempo para saber quiénes somos y tiempo para trazar el mapa de a dónde queremos ir.

Gata me inspiró en el color del modelo Ivone, el naranja es un color alegre, transmite felicidad, te ayuda a la creación, libera las emociones negativas, te da seguridad, te activa, hasta podría decir que te hace algo más comprensivo con los defectos de los demás y te aporta ganas de perdonarlo casi todo.

Julio Romero de Torres era un paisano cordobés de Gata, tenia una estética del 98 y del modernismo. Su estilo era una conjunción entre el sentimiento popular y el folclore, en su línea andalucísima, refinada y con embrujo.  Así era Gata Cattana (11 Mayo 1991-02 Marzo 2017).

And art is what she had. From the Guadalquivir to Sierra Morena, from the generations of 98 to the 27 were its breeding ground. She managed to show herself as she was, and that is what captured her listeners, the work’s authenticity. Because if today is more accurate the problem of our coexistence is the lack of authenticity. Lack of respect for ourselves. We need time to get to know each other, time to know who we are and time to draw the map of where we want to go.

Gata inspired me with the color of the Ivone model, the orange is a cheerful color, it transmits happiness, helps you create, releases negative emotions, it gives you security, it activates you, I could even say that it makes you more sympathetic with the defects of others and makes you want to forgive almost everything.

Julio Romero de Torres was a countryman from Córdoba, and had an aesthetic of 98 and modernism. His style was a conjunction between popular sentiment and folklore, in his very Andalusian, refined and spellbound lines. This was also the essence of Gata Cattana (11 May 1991-02 March 2017).
